A Grand Passion for the Small Screen
Guy Villeneuve and Michel St-Cyr founded Fair-Play in 1998. Armed with over two decades of television experience, the two producers embarked on one great ride: television production. To stand out of the crowd in a highly competitive market, they had their know-how, their acumen and especially, a vision: compelling stories told by passionate people make for exciting television.
This vision has allowed Fair-Play to create television shows that broach a wide variety of topics, in many formats – documentary, variety, fiction, magazine – and garner an increasing share of the Anglophone and Francophone audiences across the broadcast and cable spectrum.

Fair-Play’s English credits include Guy Stuff with John Moore on Men TV & Global, Canadian Case Files on Mystery, Destiny Files and Let’s Talk Sex both for Men TV and Just for Laughs: The Gags on CTV and CBC. In addition, Fair-Play has produced comedy variety shows such as Stand Up Montreal and Comedy Tonight. French productions include the prime time hit Les enfants de la télé on Radio-Canada and hidden-camera sensation Peut contenir des Rachid on TVA. Other successes include Gémeaux award-winning series Ici Louis-Jose Houde for Radio-Canada and ADNX for Télé-Québec. Television series, documentaries, live show recordings, informative content… Fair-Play’s catalogue keeps expanding. But if results do matter, the fun of getting there is also paramount at Fair-Play. In this competitive world, Guy Villeneuve, Michel St-Cyr and their associates see to it that their staff of artists, crew members and producers enjoy the perfect environment for creating exciting television shows. Our name is more than a play on words, it reflects our work culture. |
